Ask a friend, neighbor or colleague about Dunwoody and they’ll likely mention the Treetop Quest or the Nature Center. While these both make the city a great place to live, they are only a hint of what it has to offer. There is a sea of fun waiting to be experienced by you and many others looking to enjoy themselves.
The Dunwoody Nature Center is a see and think interactive playground in the open arms of nature. Hammocks, tree swings, and a bubbling brook set the ambiance for natural beauty. It’s basically a fairytale forest at the heart of the city, and it’s enjoyed by people of all ages. After that, take the family to Village Burger and indulge in the cheeseburger, fries and a creamy milkshake, because no one counts calories during vacation or fun day out. Need more to do? Just a few miles away is the raved about Georgia Aquarium of Atlanta. It’s a great addition to any trip.
Events and Entertainment
Did we mention the Butterfly Festival? Perhaps so, but a mere mention doesn’t give this event the justice it deserves. This rain-or-shine festival is enjoyed by kids and adults, a well-oganized spectacle with hundreds of colorful butterflies, a Birds of Prey show and a reptile showcase. And, let’s not forget the famous and raved about Apple Cider Days or Lemonade Days. These are two annual Dunwoody festivals that offer carnival rides, games and mountains of family fun. You could also see a show at Stage Door Players, browse an art exhibit at Spruill Center for the Arts or volunteer at one of many organizations sponsored by the residents of Dunwoody.
There’s always something to do in Dunwoody. Make plans to visit and do it all.
