Antioch Couple, Married in 1942, Will Renew Vows on Valentine’s Day at Quail Lodge Retirement Community

In Celebration of Lasting Love, Local Businesses Donate Wedding Wear, Photography, Flowers and Wedding Cake

ANTIOCH, CA (February 12, 2014) – Several Antioch and Brentwood, CA businesses have united in celebration of enduring love and will donate goods and services to celebrate a love story that has lasted more than 72 years. During World War II, a young couple fell in love and married three weeks later on January 17, 1942, in an informal ceremony in Reno, Nev. Now nearly three-quarters of century later, Mira and Bob Graves will have the wedding they always dreamed of on Valentine’s Day at Quail Lodge Retirement Community, an all-inclusive independent living senior retirement community managed by Sunshine Retirement Living.

Organized by Quail Lodge and His and Hers Formal Wear, the local businesses that will contribute to the ceremony, where the happy couple will renew their vows, include:

“Bob and Mira’s story so touched us that we jumped at the chance to make this dream come true for them,” said Jenifer Noble, Activity Director, Quail Lodge. “We are so grateful that the community has come together to make their day so very special.”

The ceremony is scheduled for 11am on Friday February 14, and will be held in the Quail Lodge Rotunda. Several of the couple’s children, grandchildren and friends will be in attendance. Heritage Baptist Academy Minister Greg Winchester will perform the ceremony.
