Even though it may not feel like winter temperature-wise, there are so many great family-friendly ways to get in the holiday spirit. Head to the San Diego Zoo to get in the holiday spirit during its annual ‘Jungle’ Bells celebrations. In addition to seeing the animals, visitors can meet Santa Claus at his igloo and enjoy Dr. Zoolittle’s rendition of “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” You can also walk through a lit-up forest, watch acrobatic trampoline elves, and even take a ride on the Twinkle Light Trolley to see light-up animal sculptures.

If you are a plant lover who enjoys holiday lights, then the Botanic Wonderland experience is for you! It’s an outdoor holiday lighting experience located throughout the San Diego Botanic Gardens. Visitors can stroll down a designated pathway to view the lights. If you visit between 5:30-8:30pm, you can see Santa Claus and professional carolers who will be singing holiday favorites. Reservations are required.

Seas ‘n’ Greetings Holiday Celebration
Head to the Birch Aquarium during its month-long holiday celebration that will feature festive decor, music, activities, and more for your whole family. Get into the holiday spirit at this fantastic event that will include festive photo opportunities, an interactive scavenger hunt, and you might even see Santa with the animals!

Winter Wonder at Belmont Park
Get in the holiday spirit at Belmont Park, a 95-year-old beachside park. Plus, if you’re feeling generous, you can bring a new toy to donate to the Toy for Tots drive.
