Activities to Try This Fall in Pennsylvania with Your Loved One
Soak up the last few weeks of sunshine at our Pennsylvania Retirement Communities!
Fall in the Northeast is beautiful but unfortunately short-lived in comparison to our winters! Take advantage of the last few weeks of beautiful weather with your loved one throughout Pennsylvania and within our luxury Retirement Communities in PA. Your friends here at Sunshine Retirement Living compiled a quick list of activities that you can enjoy this autumn.
Spend A Day At The Park
The best thing about fall in Pennsylvania is that the weather is pretty perfect–with crisp, cool temperatures and no humidity, it’s the perfect weather to spend time outdoors. It’s the perfect recipe for a nice stroll in the park! If you and your loved one aren’t into walking through parks, try bringing a lunch or some snacks and find a good spot to set yourselves up to take in the scenery and get some fresh air. Finding the right park for your and your loved one’s needs is as easy as a quick Google search! Just type in “parks near me” while at one of our retirement communities, and you will have access to the parks in your area. These park descriptions usually include photos so you can get a better idea of the terrain, picnic tables, walking trails, and more! Doing this brief research in advance will better prepare you for what you can expect your day out in nature to look like and be aware of the physical needs of your loved one. Participate In Weekly Community Activities
At our Pennsylvania Retirement Communities, we always have a weekly (and monthly) activity calendar that rotates with various activities to keep our residents engaged, active, and social! We even have separate calendars for more physical activities and more mentally stimulating activities. So, no matter the needs of your loved one, they can always find something that works for them and have fun doing it! Some of our physical activities include our walking club, armchair yoga, courtyard ball toss, and more.
Bring Out The Board Games
On those unfortunate rainy autumn days, it’s always a good idea to have something in mind to keep your loved ones occupied while keeping dry inside. Board and card games are great indoor activities for rainy or chilly days! You can never go wrong with a few rounds of Go Fish or Crazy Eights. Uno is another great card game for the whole family to get in on! We can’t forget about board games too though. Monopoly is a classic that never gets old and sometimes never seems to end, making it a fun and stimulating game to play with your loved one is a great way to keep their mind stimulated and to help make those rainy days go by a little faster.
No matter what you end up doing this fall, you can rest assured that at any of our Pennsylvania retirement communities, your loved one will not only be well taken care of, but also entertained! Socialization and entertainment is great mental stimulation for our residents and placed at the forefront of the care at Sunshine Retirement Living. We look forward to helping you and your loved ones cool out there!
Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and that means food and family! People have different ways to prepare for Thanksgiving.
Some plan out a list, down to the activities and conversations that can take place at the dinner table. These people also take out the recipe books and follow the directions to a tee! Others may take the go-with-the-flow approach and wing it! That includes recipes too.
Which group are you in? No matter your approach, we hope that this holiday season is a fulfilling one!
Family traditions are how we connect with each other across generations. By sharing our favorite events, experiences, silly games, gifts, and songs with each other, we build bonds that stand the test of time and make our family experiences unique. Passing down family traditions strengthens those bonds.
Those little things that you took for granted with your family, those things you thought every family probably did the same way until you started realizing that what makes every family unique, are your traditions. Keep reading for more tips on creating your own family traditions: ow.ly/Hx3G50LKmup
