Holiday Mint Cream Dessert

If you or a loved one are fans of the mint and chocolate flavor combination, you’re in luck! Take a look at this amazing creamy mint dessert recipe from Taste of Home. The only downside is waiting for the dessert to be set before gobbling it up! You’ll need:

  • Butter
  • Chocolate cream-filled sandwich cookies
  • Mint chocolate chip ice cream
  • Milk chocolate chips
  • Confectioners’ sugar
  • Whipped topping
  • Chocolate syrup (optional)
  • Red and green sprinkles (optional)

Start by melting butter in a microwave. Then stir in crushed up cookies and press that mixture into a rectangular baking dish. Freeze it for 30 minutes. Next spread softened mint ice cream over the crust in an even layer and return it to the freezer. While you wait, in a large saucepan, add chocolate chips, confectioners’ sugar, milk and butter. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Continue to stir for 5 minutes, then let the chocolate cool. Then spread it over the ice cream layer, and return the treat to the freezer until firm. Finally, spread whipped topping over the chocolate as the top layer. Cover your dessert and freeze one last time until firm or overnight. Optionally, drizzle with chocolate syrup and top with sprinkles!

  • Brown sugar
  • Molasses
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla extract
  • Flour
  • Ginger

The first step for this recipe is to combine melted butter, brown sugar, and molasses in a mixing bowl and whisk it together. Second, add the egg and vanilla. Next in a separate bowl, sift together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, all spice, cloves, baking powder, and salt. Then add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and fold to combine, being sure to not overmix the batter. Bake the blondies at 350°F for 20 to 30 minutes or until the edges are set. Enjoy!
