Establishing connection is one of the most important aspects of our Central Parke Memory Care and Transitional Care Community in Ohio. From sending letters to encouraging your loved one to attend our group activities to a phone call, there are many ways that you can help your loved one stay connected with family and friends while they are in one of our Ohio Communities.
It can be easy for your loved one to slip into isolation when they are away from the comfort and familiarity of home. As a family member or close friend to your loved one, you can help encourage them to stay active in pursuing relationships or greater community while they live at our care community. At Central Parke, we have several in-house options for your loved one to stay connected with others. We are person-centered first and never want any one of our members to feel isolated or alone. Check out some of our amazing programming below!
While there are certainly human activities Central Parke hosts, we wanted to first point out that our monthly therapy dog visits can be an easy way to encourage your loved one to venture out into the community. Every month we have adorable therapy dogs come to encourage our members, as well as offer opportunities for your loved one to go to an animal shelter to interact with furry friends. This way of care has proven to be incredibly beneficial to members of our community!
If your family member or loved one likes to stay active, encourage them to attend our monthly dance social! We get together to boogie on the dance floor with one another and it is a hit with our community. From busting out moves from yesteryear, to teaching the latest dance craze, this event is always a big hit. Music is a great way to connect with others!
While we understand that not every family can make regular visits, we highly encourage it if at all possible! Moving away from a familiar home or former community can take a toll on your loved one. If they have a schedule of seeing a familiar face or being in your presence, it helps their day to day care as we interact with them. Come for a walk or enjoy local sights and flavor in Mason!
Speaking of local flavor, one of the best places to take your loved one as they stay connected is the Newport Aquarium! Home to tons of sealife, rare shark breeds, and animals to pet and interact with–the aquarium will help spark conversation with your loved one that will keep them active in connection!
Help your loved one thrive in our community by encouraging them to stay connected with their family members and to make new friends with the people they live around! From dance socials to pet therapy, there are certainly ways your loved one can stay connected!
