There’s something beautiful about fall in Pennsylvania!
Fall is a favorite season to so many people, and for great reason! There’s always so much to do and see when it starts to cool down and as the leaves start to change. The fall season doesn’t last long, so it’s important to prioritize the activities that bring you the most joy. Keep reading for some fun fall activities you and your loved ones can get into this fall in Pennsylvania.
Take A Walk in Nature
The best part of fall is seeing the trees change and the landscape transform. Lucky for us, Pennsylvania is a gorgeous state during this time of year, and we really get the full experience of seeing those beautiful yellow, orange, red, and pink fall colors. A nature walk during this time of the year can’t be beat. Grab some good walking shoes, a light jacket, and a sense of adventure! Take this time to notice your surroundings from the new and migrating birds to the changing trees. Here are some parks we recommend checking out:
In the Pittsburgh area, we recommend Schenley Park. This civic park has all kinds of activities from hiking to golfing so no matter what mood you’re in, you can definitely find something to do that suits you!
In the Philadelphia area, we recommend Twinning Valley Park. This park has plenty of open space and great walking trails to get outside and enjoy the fresh fall air!
Enjoy Your Favorite Hobbies Outside
All of our Sunshine Retirement Living communities are equipped with great outdoor spaces and amenities. Before it gets real chilly outside, take advantage of these spaces within the community to bring your favorite hobbies outdoors. Are you an avid reader? Grab your book and fly through a chapter or two outside. Love knitting? It’s the perfect time to knit yourself or a loved one a sweater as we head into the winter months. We love seeing our residents take advantage of the beautiful spaces within our communities!
Classic Fall Festivities
Nothing screams fall quite like apple picking or pumpkin carving! Make it a big family occasion and visit your nearest orchard or pumpkin patch for some festive fall time fun. Pick apples, sip on warm cider, pick out some pumpkins to decorate or carve with family and friends, and really step into the fall spirit! Here are some Pennsylvania farms worth checking out:
Soergels – This country store and farm has Fall Festivals every weekend and tons of activities for the whole family. Grab some warm cider and a cinnamon donut as you wander through their country store and farm!
Triple B Farms – Ready to make your way through a corn maze? Or maybe sit back and enjoy a spooktacular hayride? Be sure to get in the spooky holiday spirit at Triple B Farms or keep it casual with some apple and pumpkin picking!
