From enjoying incredible nature preserves, to touring to nearby cities, there are tons of fun options perfect for days spent with family or friends! Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, Austin TX

Located near The Clairmont and The Continental, our Austin Communities, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower center is the perfect spring activity for those of you who love to take in the beauty of nature. The Wildflower Center has an array of programs that allow you to dabble in your creative side. These include book binding and yoga classes, guided garden tours, and an Artist-Walk-and Talk where artist Alicia Philley walks you through her art exhibit.

In addition to these weekly programs, there are bigger events planned throughout the year, which means that whenever you decide to visit, there is sure to be something special going on. Dinner Cruise on Lady Bird Lake, Austin, TX

A great option as the weather gets warmer is to take advantage of the awesome activities in the Austin area. One that we love to recommend is a dinner sightseeing cruise on Lady Bird Lake. This option allows you to take a tour around the edge of downtown Austin and enjoy the beautiful sights of the area. For those visiting you and Austin for the first time, this is a great way to learn about the area while also enjoying the wonderful experience. Pharr/Vanguard Academy Nature & Birding Center

Sticking with the theme of nature and outdoor activities, one of our must-see spots near Brook Ridge and The Gardens at Brook Ridge is the Pharr/Vanguard Academy Nature & Birding Center. This native habitat sits on 8 acres and includes walking trails, an amphitheater, a pavilion with picnic tables, a bird feeding station,and more! This is a great place to go on a warm spring afternoon, perfect for visiting with friends or family, or simply trying to spend some time outside. Veterans Memorial Park

Also located near our senior living communities in Pharr, Texas, we highly recommend spending a warm spring day at the Memorial Park. Here you can pay respects to United States Veterans, have a picnic on the lawn, and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. The park is the perfect place to spend a leisurely afternoon and includes picnic tables, restrooms, and the memorials.
