So grab your loved ones and venture outside for an exciting fall! From biking to birdwatching to shopping, and everything in between, Ohio autumns are anything but boring. Check out our awesome list below!
Acacia Reservation is a beautiful 155 acre park in Lyndhurst with an easy 1.7 mile walking loop for casual strolls with your loved ones. With Euclid Creek cutting through the park, it’s an excellent place to spend a day birdwatching! With cardinals, blue jays, black-capped chickadees, and even raptors, the park is full of beautiful birds. For those who love to bike, this trail is also bicycle friendly!
Speaking of bicycles, Cleveland is a biker’s paradise, and The Towpath Trail is a true haven for cyclists. Found along the Erie Canal, this soon-to-be 101 mile trail (it is currently under construction and topped off at 90 miles), starts in New Philadelphia and travels all the way north to Canal Basin Park in downtown Cleveland. This gentle path is great for bikers of all levels, and also fantastic for running and walking, and a significant portion is ADA accessible.
For those who love plantlife and enjoy sitting under the shade of a majestic tree more than biking along the Erie Canal, the Holden Arboretum is for you! Located in Kirtland, the 3,500 acre arboretum features tram tours, gardens, lakes, beautiful meadows, and yes, hiking trails. This amazing park is open year round, and is the perfect spot to gather with loved ones, catch up on one another’s lives, and make memories together. With events like live music, scientist lecture series, and sites like the Kalberer Emergent Tower, there is plenty to do here, and you’ll find new things to discover with every visit!
If nature isn’t your speed and you’d rather spend your days shopping and dining, look no further than Crocker Park in Westlake. The shopping destination features events like the Autumn Craft & Vendor Show, Samhain Harvest Market, and a Halloween Spooktacular – all in October! Market Square offers great public activities like outdoor fitness classes, theater performances, and even local markets and bazaars. Complete with incredible dining options and countless shops to peruse, this shopping park is one of a kind and is a must-do this fall!
With so many options in the Cleveland area to spend quality time outdoors this autumn, we know your weekends will be packed with plans in no time! So grab your loved ones, take a trip to one of the amazing destinations on our list, and get to some serious memory-making!
