We’d love to offer you some ideas for snacks that are sure to be a hit with your loved one this season!

Bagel Fruit Pizza

If you want to introduce lots of in-season fruit in a portable and easy snack, try making a bagel fruit pizza! This recipe from My Everyday Table offers a healthier take on the traditional fruit pizza, which is typically served on a sugar cookie, and opts for a whole-wheat bagel instead. To make this colorful snack, you’ll need:

  • Whole-wheat bagel or English muffin
  • Cream cheese
  • Diced fruit of choice (we recommend strawberries, mangoes, and blueberries)
  • Honey

Start by toasting your bagel or English muffin. Next, spread your cream cheese on top in an even layer. Then, sprinkle your diced fruit around the bagel, making sure it sticks to the cream cheese. Finally, add a drizzle of honey. We hope your loved one enjoys this snack!

Homemade Trail Mix

When you’re on the go with your loved one or looking to make a big batch of something yummy to snack on throughout the week, this homemade trail mix recipe from Eating Well is sure to hit the spot! Trail mix is a great way to ensure your loved one gets enough protein and healthy fats. Not only that, but the options for what you can include in your trail mix are basically endless! To make this quick and easy snack, here are all the ingredients you’ll need:

  • Almonds
  • Dry roasted peanuts
  • Dried cranberries or raisins
  • Chopped pitted dates
  • Other dried fruit of choice

There’s no real step-by-step instructions for this snack, as you can just throw everything together in a bowl, mix it up, and enjoy! Other possible add-ins to your trail mix can include other types of nuts or pretzels. If your loved one has a sweet tooth, you can add some dark chocolate chunks, as well. To store this, we recommend a large sealable bag or glass jar. Simply scoop out small portions whenever hunger strikes!

Chicken Salad Bites

This savory snack idea has a kick and is packed with delicious protein! If you’re looking for something that will taste like comfort food but give your loved one some fresh veggies as well, you’ll love this chicken salad bites recipe from the Healthy Substitute. This is a great snack to bring to a picnic or something crunchy to enjoy when you’re sitting on the patio on a beautiful day. Here’s what you’ll need to make it:

  • Cucumbers
  • Chicken breast
  • Celery
  • Sour cream
  • Cream cheese
  • Hot sauce
  • Optional: green onions

To make this, first add your cream cheese, sour cream and hot sauce to a bowl and mix well. Then, add the cooked chicken, celery, and optional diced green onions and toss to combine. Slice your cucumbers and add a spoonful of the chicken mixture on top of each slice. Enjoy!
