Our expert team has put together some of our favorite ways to celebrate and start the new year strong at our community. There’s no need to step outside the community gates if you’re looking to kick off the new year. Instead, gather around with your loved ones and take advantage of our amenities. Below are some great ideas to get you inspired.
If you’re looking for more ways to socialize, gather in our community areas with your fellow residents for a celebration together. Try making the event a potluck where everyone can bring one of their favorite dishes or drinks. Everyone can always bond over food!
Are you trying to get more exercise? Try joining one of our many workout classes. We offer various workouts from yoga, aerobic, and more every day! If you haven’t found a favorite yet, we bet you will at one of our senior group exercise classes.
Volunteering is always a great way to start the year. As you’re giving to others, you feel the warmth within. So sign up for one of the many volunteer opportunities and service programs offered: food and clothing drives, household items for Women of Abuse, letters to our troops, recycling programs, and more.

Are you looking to find a new hobby? If cars or coffee are your style, check out Folsom’s Cars and Coffee. This event takes place every Saturday from 7:00 am-9:30 am at the El Dorado Hills Town Center, and the parking lot is located to the right of the Regal Movie Theater.
If you’re trying to eat more consciously this year or want to support more small businesses, it’s worth the visit to the Historic Folsom Farmers Market. Every Saturday from 8:00 am-1:00 pm, you can shop from local businesses and try new foods! You can find the farmer’s market at 915 Sutter Street.
Are you interested in leaning into your creative side? You can sip on your favorite glass of wine while painting at one of these art classes. Each class is different and welcomes all, so gather around with your closest friends for a fun night out.
If running was a part of your new year’s resolutions and you’re up for about a thirty-minute car ride, the Sacramento Running Association encourages people of all ages to join! This organization sponsors events such as the California International Marathon and the Super Sunday Run on February 1st.
