Autumn by Ali Smith

Aptly named, while this book takes place in autumn, the book explores both friendship and the deeper implications of Brexit in the United Kingdom. The first in a seasonal quartet, this book is not an easy read emotionally or intellectually, though it is brilliantly written and gives the reader a chance to reflect on the words on the page and how they relate to, well anything. If you’re looking for a beautiful challenge, this book and author may just be for you.

At Home on Marigold Lane by Debbie Mason

On the complete opposite end of the fiction spectrum is this sweet little romance novel by romance queen Debbie Mason. Part of the Highland Falls series, this story can standalone or be read within the context of the full series. Pulling in festive fall activities and the nostalgia of a past love, this quick but satisfying read will give you all the warm fuzzy feelings that a perfectly done romance novel should.

My Name is Barbra by Barbra Streisand

Seasonal in nature and chronicling her entire lifespan from childhood in Brooklyn to the charitable work she does today, this new release memoir from the inimitable Barbra Streisand is already receiving incredible reviews. Passionate, fiercely talented, cinematic and theatrical icon, Babs is one of the most beloved celebrities of all time. With fans of all ages, Ms. Streisand has ensured this book is a hot hit that the entire family can read and discuss together.

Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery

There’s a reason the quote “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers” is so popular. Anne of Green Gables is a childhood classic that evokes the feel of cozy autumns and gorgeous Octobers that Anne speaks so fondly of. Whether picking it up for the first time, revisiting it for the hundredth, or reading it aloud to the newest generation, this book is a nostalgic read for everyone on our list.

Holly by Stephen King

Bringing back beloved character Detective Holly Gibney from his previous books from the Bill Hodges Trilogy to The Outsider, this book lets Holly be front and center the entire, twisty, chilling story. Featuring a missing child, a kooky neighbor couple, and Holly’s race to deduce where exactly Bonnie Dahl is. Out this fall, this book is sure to go down as one of King’s best.

With so many amazing choices, we’re sure your to-be-read pile will be well stocked and finished before you know it! Let us know which of these tantalizing tales is added to your favorites list!
