Check out downtown Folsom and when you’re done, drive by Folsom State Prison. It may sound strange to visit a prison, but this iconic location is mentioned in country music legend Johnny Cash’s song Folsom Prison Blues and is a must-see when in the area. Still a functioning correctional facility, you cannot tour the inside, but still seeing the location where Johnny Cash performed, and the location of several feature films, is a great adventure for a cool day.
Another adventurous opportunity lies near our Park View Estates Transitional Assisted Living and Memory Care Community. The Reptile Zoo, located just 10 minutes from our community, is home to reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids from around the world. On a warmer day, there is nothing better than visiting Lake Murray reservoir located within Mission Trails Regional Park. This beautiful outdoor location is open for fishing and private boats most days. It is a great way to get outside and enjoy the beautiful La Mesa area this season.

We all want to start our days on the right foot, and prioritizing a well-balanced breakfast is a great way to make sure you have energy all day! Our residents have access to healthy breakfasts every day of the week, but for our friends at home, one easy way to add a nutritious punch to your morning meal is by adding spinach to a simple scramble.
It is extremely easy to make for yourself or a loved one if you’re short on time in the morning. Simply heat up a nonstick pan, add your eggs, some spinach, and a little of your favorite seasoning (we love everything bagel seasoning)! Turn the eggs occasionally to cook them through, and you're ready to eat.
