Our Transitional Assisted Living and Memory Care Communities support older adults who are beginning to experience early memory loss and need more attentive cognitive support than is typically available in assisted living, as well as those already living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.
MEMORY CARE THERAPIES
We strive to improve the lives of those experiencing memory challenges, Alzheimer’s, or other dementias with our Person-Centered Care approach and research-backed Memory Care Therapies. Person-Centered Care combines a robust life enrichment program and a holistic, collaborative care approach to fulfill our mission of improving the lives of older adults experiencing memory challenges, Alzheimer’s, and other dementias.
Music releases dopamine in the brain, creating positive feelings and helping to calm agitation. It can also support memory function, encourage social engagement, and create moments of connection.
Light plays an important role in cognitive, behavioral, and physical wellness. Circadian lighting helps align the body’s internal clock with natural daylight patterns, promoting alertness during the day and restful sleep at night.
Familiar scents, such as lavender or freshly baked cookies, can help reduce difficult behaviors in older adults with dementia. Aromatherapy may also improve sleep, ease agitation, and support a sense of calm.
Creative expression can offer positive outcomes for those living with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Art therapy supports concentration while encouraging self-expression and evoking positive emotions and memories.
Pet therapy offers meaningful benefits for older adults with dementia, including reduced agitation, increased physical activity, improved appetite, and moments of comfort, connection, and joy.
Physical activity supports mobility, coordination, and overall well-being, helping residents stay active and engaged. Secured outdoor areas encourage safe movement, routine exercise, and time in fresh air.
Stimulating the senses can help calm nerves, reduce anxiety, and improve mood and engagement. VR allows residents to revisit familiar places, enjoy music, and share immersive experiences with others.
